Bioer and National University of Singapore Partner to Advance Digital PCR Applications

Hangzhou, China / Singapore – [17th April 2025] – Bioer Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd., a global provider of innovative molecular biology solutions, today announced a strategic collaboration with the National University of Singapore (NUS) Department of Biological Sciences to accelerate the adoption and exploration of digital PCR (dPCR) technologies in Singapore. This initiative aims to empower researchers with advanced tools to tackle a wide range of scientific and clinical challenges—especially in applications requiring ultra-sensitive detection of low copy number targets.

Digital PCR is an advanced molecular technique that provides absolute quantification of nucleic acids, setting itself apart from conventional qPCR through higher sensitivity, reproducibility, and precision. The collaboration will support groundbreaking research across a broad spectrum of applications, including:

· Cancers and ctDNA analysis for non-invasive cancer diagnostics

· Rare mutation detection in oncology and liquid biopsy

· Low viral load monitoring in infectious disease surveillance

· Copy number variation (CNV) analysis in genetics and biomedical research

· Gene expression analysis, especially in low-abundance or single-cell samples

· Microbial detection and quantification in clinical, environmental, and industrial samples

· Cell and gene therapy development and monitoring

· Residual host cell DNA quantification in biologics manufacturing

· GMO quantification and food testing in agriculture and food safety

· Protein quantification and interaction studies

· Wastewater surveillance for public health

· Next-generation sequencing (NGS) library quantification

“Digital PCR is unlocking new possibilities in molecular research that were previously difficult to achieve with traditional techniques,” said Colin Wei, Managing Director, Bioer. “We are excited to collaborate with the NUS Department of Biological Sciences and provide researchers with advanced technology that enables high-impact applications—from cancer mutation detection to infectious disease surveillance and beyond." Dr Lin Qingsong, Principal Research Fellow at the NUS Department of Biological Sciences added,“This partnership with Bioer brings new opportunities to explore digital PCR in diverse research fields. The sensitivity and precision of the platform will support our mission to advance scientific discovery and innovation in Singapore and the region.”This collaboration reflects a shared vision to promote innovation, enhance local research capabilities, and expand access to next-generation molecular tools. It also strengthens Singapore’s position as a hub for precision medicine and translational research.
